Press Release: Glassense Expands Its Management Board to Drive Profitable Growth

Glassense AS, a manufacturer of architectural glass solutions, appointed two highly experienced executives to its Management Board in August. The appointments are intended to support profitable growth, increase productivity and help the company enter new export markets.

The new members of the Management Board are Sales and Marketing Director Siiri Odrats-Koni and Chief Operations Officer Ardo Asperk. The Board also includes Chief Financial Officer Markus Kirsberg and Chairman of the Management Board Simmo Soomets.

“The construction sector has faced a prolonged period of challenging market conditions. Now that the economy is showing signs of renewed growth, we need to focus more strongly on developing our commercial activities and improving production efficiency. We have also resumed investing in technology and our organisation. Expanding the Management Board strengthens our leadership capabilities in the areas that are crucial to Glassense’s future growth and profitability,” said Simmo Soomets.

According to Soomets, the company’s objectives in expanding the Management Board are to improve profitability, increase sales in both new and existing markets, enhance production efficiency, and further improve quality and delivery reliability.

“Siiri and Ardo bring extensive experience in international sales and industrial management to the Management Board. Their appointment enables us to manage the company’s commercial and operational activities more comprehensively and implement Glassense’s strategic objectives more quickly,” Soomets added.

As Sales and Marketing Director, Siiri Odrats-Koni will bring together the sales teams at Glassense’s different factories, develop sales in existing markets, help the company enter new export markets, and take its brand and product marketing to the next level. Odrats-Koni has extensive experience in leading sales teams at Henkel Baltics. She will also continue to serve as Chair of the Supervisory Board of Elektrilevi.

As Chief Operations Officer, Ardo Asperk will be responsible for managing Glassense’s production, procurement, logistics and technical departments. His role is to increase throughput across the company’s three factories, improve product quality, and strengthen delivery reliability for customers.

Asperk has extensive industrial management experience from his time as Managing Director of Stoneridge Electronics Estonia, where he was responsible for supplying high-tech components to the automotive industry. He will continue to serve as a member of the Advisory Board of the Estonian Association for Quality, a member of the Advisory Board for EEK Mainor’s Quality Management Curriculum, and a lecturer in Lean management.

Glassense AS manufactures architectural glass solutions and employs approximately 350 people. The company generated revenue of €41 million last year. Glassense is owned by Barrus AS, a manufacturer of glued laminated timber.
