Islington Wharf

Islington Wharf is an iconic residential development in Manchester City, U.K. It sits on the bank of Ashton Canal within the New Islington area.

This building was fully refurbished by Bennett Architectural Aluminium Solutions Ltd and was one of the first “big” projects for Glassense when entering the market now already 5 years ago. We thank for the trust and experience we got from this!

New IGU (more then 3500m2) are externally with Saint-Gobain Cool-Lite SKN154ii and SKN144ii coatings depending on the area of the building. The last part of the job included also some Bolted glass where we used special design penetrating IGU bolts from our local Estonian partners R-Fix.

There are 200 apartments spread across two blocks. Most apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows offering some incredible views of the city centre and beyond. With sustainability at the heart of the project, the development was designed to achieve an EcoHomes excellent rating as well as meet the client’s own sustainability goals.

The building includes also underground parking spaces and balconies with some apartments. For those that don’t have outside space, they can take advantage of the communal ‘secret roof garden’ which is the ideal space for residents to socialize and relax.

Standing tall on the corner of Great Ancoats Street and Old Mill Street, Islington Wharf has a lobby and commercial space at ground floor level is set to be taken by one of the major supermarkets, so daily grocery shopping will be ultra-convenient.

This building is a short walk away from Manchester city centre. It is one of the most creative, vibrant, and friendly cities in the U.K. It is close enough to everything the city has to offer but far enough away to sleep in peace.
